Where Joyful Learning Takes Root

Founded in 2022 by Rebecca Honett, Honett Studio was created with a simple vision: to build a place where music and learning are rooted in joy, curiosity, and meaningful relationships.

What began as a small private studio has grown into a vibrant educational community serving children, teens, and adults throughout Gallipolis and the surrounding region. Today, we offer private music lessons, literacy coaching, early childhood music classes, and homeschool music programs designed to help every student grow with confidence.

At Honett Studio, we believe education should nurture the whole person. Whether a student is learning to play an instrument, discovering the joy of singing, becoming a more confident reader, or taking their very first music class, our goal is the same: to provide thoughtful, personalized instruction that builds lasting skills and a lifelong love of learning.

Our Approach

No two students learn in exactly the same way. We take time to understand each learner's strengths, interests, and goals so instruction can be tailored to their individual needs.

Our lessons combine strong fundamentals with creativity, movement, exploration, and encouragement. Students are challenged to grow while feeling supported, known, and celebrated throughout the learning process.

For many children, especially those who have struggled in more traditional educational settings, this personalized approach helps rebuild confidence and creates meaningful momentum for long-term success.

Why Music Matters

Music is far more than an extracurricular activity.

Research continues to demonstrate connections between music education and language development, executive functioning, memory, attention, and academic achievement. More importantly, music teaches students to listen carefully, solve problems creatively, persevere through challenges, and express themselves with confidence.

We want our students to become more than accomplished performers. We hope they become lifelong musicians who carry music with them long after lessons have ended.

Literacy Coaching

Strong reading skills open doors in every area of learning.

Our literacy coaching identifies the foundational skills that may be holding a student back and creates an individualized plan for growth. Through evidence-based instruction and close partnership with families, we help students become confident, independent readers while equipping parents with practical tools to support learning at home.

Rooted in Community

Honett Studio continues to grow in response to the needs of our community. Alongside private lessons, we offer group music classes, homeschool programs, seasonal events, and educational opportunities that encourage creativity, collaboration, and joyful learning.
